Envelope’s creative brief draws from close consultation with all festival stakeholders. A clear positioning statement – singing, performing, learning – sets the theme for a new brand story.
Years before Dark Mofo warmed up Tasmania’s notoriously chilly winters, Festival of Voices brought music and revelry to Hobart in July with its outdoor concert in Salamanca Place performed around an enormous bonfire. Vibrant magenta and burnt orange colours reinforce the theme of winter warmth. Each year a rich tapestry of festival imagery lures punters with a compelling story expressed in a ‘retro’ digital typeface. The capital “V” becomes an iconic emblem with its subtle nod to the shape of Tasmania.
Envelope’s robust and easy-to-use digital templates make local production with Tasmanian suppliers of promotional printing, merchandise and signage efficient and cost effective. This is a festival that gives back to the local community while building brand Tasmania locally and beyond.
Festival of Voices won the prestigious Australian Business Arts Foundation national SME award which recognises partnerships between businesses and arts and cultural organisations. Envelope strives to create brands that respond to unique circumstances. Above all else they must be captivating for existing and prospective audiences alike.
