Envelope spends time on site, watching the movement of residents, guests and staff. A detailed sign schedule is drafted with building drawings annotated. Envelope manages a workshop for the client, the architect and the builder to approve the scope.
The project provides the perfect opportunity to bring the journey and arrival of the Mayflower in the new world into a much expanded campus.
Mayflower’s existing brand identity guidelines inform the design of a modular system which rationalises sign types into zones of activity and location categories.
Particular attention is given to legibility for elderly residents with testing carried out on a range of physical mockups. Once approved the system is costed for fabrication and installation.
Executed in five stages over a 6 year timeframe, Envelope’s scope includes research, strategy, design, production management and installation scheduling and delivery.
Working closely with our longterm collaborators Graffix Signs, each stage is delivered on time and on budget.
