There’s no place like home...
Naomi is a multidisciplinary Australian contemporary Indigenous artist telling stories through paintings, ceramics and photography. Artists often rely on their output to reflect their brand but Naomi needed something far more personal.
Naomi’s practice is rooted in the vast traditional lands of her ancestors that surround the town of Coen in Far North Queensland. Envelope distills the tropical spectrum, flooding a website that is much more than an archive of Naomi’s practice. Family life, so important to Naomi and her kin, is told through carefully curated narratives that embody this paradise.
Naomi was so thrilled with her new identity, she asked us to design a publication for an exhibition of women photographers at the V&A in London. Adolescent Wonderland is a book imagined as a bag of mixed lollies. 160 pages of family photographs are all wrapped up in lolly pink fabric, stamped with disco-inspired, sky-blue metallic lettering. Just how her family wants to be to be seen. 🙂
